The tour, organized by Verizon Communications, was held from February to June 2013 in Seoul, Taipei, Yokohama, Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., San Francisco and New York City.[1] [2]BAP held their first solo concert in February at the Olympic Hall in Seoul’s Olympic Park, just a year after their debut. Over twenty tracks from the group’s song list were performed.[3]
Reception[edit]
The tour was well received, selling out in multiple countries. As soon as tickets for the two day Seoul concert went on sale on January 23, all seats were sold out in ten minutes. [4] All 10,000 tickets for the U.S. leg of the concert tour were sold out within an hour.[5] Furthermore, BAP added an extra concert date in Japan due to high demand from fans after the initial concert date sold out.[6]
LA Weekly wrote: "It was a set design fit for a larger venue, but they somehow pulled it off, especially with stadium-thumping songs like "No Mercy" playing."[7] Time magazine acknowledged that B.A.P's concerts in the United States were more "modest" in attendance numbers than their analogs in Asia, but the impact on fans was just as strongly felt.[8] Billboard magazine noted that for B.A.P, "the ultra-enthusiasm translated to a deeper connection with their U.S. fans".[9]
While performing in New York city, BAP was invited to MTV K studios for a live performances with chosen fans titled MTV K PRESENTS B.A.P LIVE IN NYC. Taped live in MTV’s iconic Times Square studio, B.A.P LIVE IN NYC gave an all-access look into a day in the life of a K-pop idol — including backstage interviews and exclusive footage from the boys’ private graffiti session with MTV K. Their performance was simultaneously streamed live on the MTV K website for fans all over the world to enjoy. [10]
BAP finished their Pacific tour with an encore concert at Seoul Olympic Hall titled 'B.A.P LIVE ON EARTH SEOUL - WANTED'. [11] The concert was held on August 17 & 18 among promotions of their third mini album Badman (EP). Around 2,000 fans for the finale encore concert were foreign who came over to watch them perform their latest songs. [12]
