Balkan Agricultural Ltd is established at the beginning of the twentieth century and registered in town of Sofia[1], the capital of Bulgaria[2]. It is subsidiary of Euro Investment Holding JVC. The brand BALKAN AGRICULTURAL is officially registries by the Patent Office of the Republic. The company owns factory for processing fruits and vegetables located in town of Pazardzhik[3], Southern Bulgaria[4].
Factory Technologies[edit]
The factory has a line specially designed for production and aseptic filling of HB and CB tomato paste at various levels of concentration, machines for processing and packaging and its own laboratory.
The laboratory is equipped with apparatuses for current physical and chemical control of the ready production as the work is performed with a generation refract meter, stationary colorimeter, tomato color meter and an apparatus for acidity measuring. This allows hourly evaluation of the quality of the paste produced by concentration, viscosity, color and acidity. The laboratory measures indicators for Lycopene. The reliability of products is periodically monitored by external accredited laboratories also, starting from the primary raw material for the presence of pesticide residues and heavy metals, and ending with a complete microbiological analysis of the finished product.
Production[edit]
Daily capacity of processed raw materials is 700 tons. The production line starts with the delivery of raw materials, their washing and sorting, cutting, preliminary heating, refining, concentrating, storage, pasteurization or sterilization and hot or aseptic filling. The technological process runs on high speed and then lowered to a minimum time for thermic processing. This protects the nutritional and taste qualities of the ready product. The produced paste is used for direct consumption or as raw material for the production of lyutenitsa[5], ketchup, sauce, juices and baby food. In none of the processing stages of tomatoes are used conservers, coloring, or additive as the end product is certified with a maximal expiry date 24 months as of the production date.
Packaging[edit]
The packaging of the ready production is in 200l aseptic bags, in metal barrels, located 4 on a flat wooden pallet. The equipment allows using tanks with a capacity of up to one ton.
Certificates[edit]
The factory has HACCP system and certificates according to ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015, and ISO 45001: 2018.
The company has also HALAL certificate[6].
BALKAN AGRICULTURAL is member of The Union of the Processors of Fruit and Vegetables in the Republic of Bulgaria since 2017
BALKAN AGRICULTURAL was certificated as Investor Class A by the Ministry of Economy of Bulgaria in 2020
