BASIS International Schools is a group of private international and bilingual schools located in China and Thailand.  

History

BASIS International Schools is part of the BASIS Curriculum Schools network, which comprises of 16 schools in China and one in Thailand, with two schools scheduled to open in China in 2026. A related division, BASIS Independent Schools, operates twelve private schools in the United States.

The first BASIS International School opened in Shenzhen, China, in 2015[1]. Since then, the international and bilingual school network has expanded across mainland China and Southeast Asia.

Academics

Curriculum

BASIS International Schools follows the BASIS Curriculum, a U.S.-based academic program emphasizing science, mathematics, and global preparedness. The curriculum features structured instruction, subject-specialist teaching, and standardized assessments such as Advanced Placement (AP) exams.  

College Admissions Results

Graduates from BASIS International Schools have been admitted into many well-known universities around the world, including Princeton, MIT, Harvard, Imperial College London, Oxford, Cambridge, Johns Hopkins, and many more[6].  

Academic Competitions and Awards

In 2025 BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Wuhan won the title of Teamwork Challenge World Champions at the VEX Robotics World Championship[7].

BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen was awarded the College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award[8] for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science in 2024.

The 2019 Economics team from BASIS International School Guangzhou won the International Round of the National Economics Challenge[1].
