BC Institute of Property Inspectors
The BC Institute of Property Inspectors (BCIPI) is a British Columbia - Canada based non-profit professional association for home inspectors. Founded in 1999, BCIPI is a home inspection association in the world. BCIPI has members throughout British Columbia. Members are required to adhere to the BCIPI Standards of Practice and the ASTTBC Code of Ethics.
BCIPI members are certified through BCIPI's parent organization ASTTBC. BCIPI inspectors are only authorized to offer inspections after they have met all the requirements of ASTTBC's [1] certification policy] and have passed a series of mentored reviews by senior association peers.
BCIPI members have access to many free continuing education home inspection courses through the General Membership Meetings.
Note: As of November 30, 2009 - BCIPI ceased to be an institute. In a bid for power, ASTTBC dissolved the institute, its constitution and its duly elected board. To this day, these structures have not been re-created and BCIPI remains only as a marketing name for ASTTBC Certified Home & Property Inspectors.
