BD-21 784, also known as Gliese 160.2, Gliese 9144, LHS 1628 or HIP 19165 is a K-type main-sequence star located 84.4 light-years away in the constellation of Eridanus. Its surface temperature is 4300 K.[3] The star's concentration of heavy elements is low, with concentration of iron just 55% of the Sun`s.[8] The age of BD-21 784 is poorly constrained to range from 1.1 to 10 billion years,[7] but may be similar to that of the Sun.[9]

Planetary system[edit]

In 2014 one planet, named Gliese 160.2 b, was announced on a 5.2-day orbit, discovered by the radial velocity method.[10] The planetary equilibrium temperature is 736±43 K.[3] The existence of the planet was refuted with the expanded radial-velocity dataset in 2020 though.[2]
