BODEGA
BODEGA is a five-piece American art rock band from Brooklyn, NY.
History
Directly following the breakup of Bodega Bay in the summer of 2016, BODEGA played their first show at Alphaville - opening for David Peel just months before he passed away.
After playing at SXSW in March 2018, NME named BODEGA "New York's Most Exciting New Band".[1] BODEGA then went on to support Franz Ferdinand for a few American tour dates in April 2018.[2]
Released in June 2018 through NY-based record label What's Your Rupture?, their debut album entitled Endless Scroll, was ranked #12 on Rough Trade's Albums of the Year in 2018[3] and was described by The Independent as "a fantastic debut from one of the most exciting new bands around."[4] Endless Scroll was produced by Austin Brown of fellow Brooklyn band Parquet Courts.
In July 2018, The Village Voice named BODEGA "the Summer's Ultimate Brooklyn Band"[5], and NME referred to Endless Scroll as "one of the most accomplished debuts of the year".[6]
Following the release of Endless Scroll, BODEGA has toured extensively both domestically and internationally.
In February 2019, BODEGA released a live record entitled Witness Scroll.[7]
In June 2019, French photographer and fashion designer Hedi Slimane collaborated with the band on the debut of his Celine SS2020 menswear collection.[8]
Bodega's forthcoming mini-album entitled Shiny New Model is due for release via What's Your Rupture? on Oct 11, 2019.[9]
