Rev. Bache Wright Harvey (1835 - 1888) graduated from St John's College, Cambridge, he became an Anglican Clergyman and was the headmaster of Whanganui Collegiate School from 1882 till his death in 1888[1]

Rev. Harvey emigrated to New Zealand in 1867 he was accompanied by Bishop Suter.

Rev. Harvey was appointed the position of Vicar of St Paul's in 1871 as the population started to grow he began to struggle keeping up with the amount of work, in 1878 he requested the vestry employ an assistant this was originally turned down.[2]

Ten days after the Initial request was turned down the vestry decided that they could afford to employ an assistant.

In 1879 Rev. Harvey was granted a year's sick leave the vestry determined that this had been brought on by stress and being over worked in the parish.

In 1882 he became the headmaster of Whanganui Collegiate School where he served until his death, upon his death he was buried at the Bolton Street Cemetery and was there until the cemetery was removed.[3]

upon the removal of the Bolton Street Cemetery he was Buried on the grounds of Whanganui Collegiate School where a house was named in his honor and the chapel was dedicated to him.[[4][5]
