Backyard Homies was founded by Rizki Dwi Susanto (commonly known as Kisut) in 2020. At that time, the Covid-19 pandemic was very tense and forced people to stay at home for a long time. Furthermore, that much free time was finally utilized by Kisut to create the Backyard Homies project.
Looking back, Kisut was originally a comedy rapper who debuted on the Bester TV YouTube channel. There he gained many listeners and began to be recognized in the community. Furthermore, he invited 2K RIRI to join him as a comedy rapper and released several songs on the Bester TV channel. After that, Kisut was confident to establish Backyard Homies and made 2K RIRI as the first artist.[1]
Initially, Backyard Homies only wanted to be a music collective that embraces new musicians so that they can develop their talents in the music industry. Then, the longer Backyard Homies existed, Kisut considered Backyard Homies to be well-established and capable of running bigger opportunities.
Aside from developing homegrown artists, Backyard Homies has also supported artists such as HildanLogic, Gumiho, Yung Kisut, yukei, and LaFlame Shawty.
