Bad World: The Beginning
Bad World[1] is an American post-apocalyptic horror / drama series based on the short story of the same name by Adam Loughran[2]. The series follows two ensembles of survivors through a post-apocalyptic world, scavenging for food, fighting to stay alive under the threat of zombies, known in the show as “Wanderers” or “El trotamundos”. With the wipeout of humanity people turn to violence and chaos, ripping each other apart instead of joining to fight the wanderers. They have their own laws and morals which sometimes lead to conflict and destruction. Eoghan Carberry[3] plays the series lead, Erin Foster along with, Adam Loughran, Jacob Adams.
The first two episodes will be independently filmed in Ireland and be used to pitch to bigger companies. Like Warner Bros etc. It’s planned to be premiered beginning of 2022 and will be entered in film festivals all over the globe such as Irish Film Festival London, Irish Film Festival Boston, Sundance Film Festival, Cork International Film Festival. It will be premiered two weeks after on Amazon Prime Video.
Plot
Based in Jacksonville, Oregon in the year 1992, life changes for the worst. People start going crazy, violent, cannibalistic, tearing the world apart. We follow Erin, a quiet young teenager through a post-apocalyptic world. Facing struggles not even your worst enemy should face. Mystery and menace have taken control of their lives. From getting ripped apart, broken down, hurt and scared. Erin and Jacob always find their way back to each other.[4]
Cast and characters
Main
Eoghan Carberry as Erin Foster, a 15-year-old bright teenager. struggling in the new world, trying to make sense and find his friends and family.
Adam Loughran as Jacob Adams, a goofy 15-year-old. Always finds a way to make jokes of hard situations. He is sensitive and caring.
Laura Prendergast as Addilyn Smith, a 26 year old scientist sent from the R.I.V center in California.
Ryan O'Meara as Lucas Walsh, a comforting and sweet 14-year-old. He cares more about others than himself. He's optimistic and has no bad bone in his body.
Vivian Birungi[5] as Hayley Sinclair, a fearless, smart, cunning and brave 17-year-old. She doesn't hold back and always the truth, even if it hurts.
Lucia Gavier as Valentina Delgato, a caring, kind, elementary school teacher who takes in Emma and Caleb, two of her heartwarming students. She is a motherly figure to the group.
James Stewart as Flynn Adams, Jacob's older 19-year-old brother, brave, but also selfish and does things for his own benefit. If he doesn't have a win in something, then he doesn't do it[6]
