Bae Ho-young (Korean: 배호영, born August 10, 1998), also known by the monomyn Hoyoung (Korean: 호영), is a South Korean rapper, singer and dancer. He made his debut in 2019 as a member of boy group Verivery as a main dancer and the lead rapper.

Early life[edit]

Hoyoung was born on August 10, 1998 in Cheongju. His family consists of his parents and his five siblings. He is the second youngest in his family, having an older brother, four older sisters and a younger sister.

He studied abroad and lived in New Zealand for 10 years where he learned to fluently speak English. He then returned to Korea to become an idol and trained under Jellyfish Entertainment for 2 years 10 months prior to debut.

Career[edit]

2019-present: Debut with Verivery and solo activities[edit]

He was introduced as the second member of Verivery on September 4, 2018. The group made their debut on January 9, 2019 with their EP Veri-Us.

Solo activities[edit]

On March 16, 2022, it was announced from Jellyfish Entertainment that five members of Verivery, including Hoyoung, have tested positive for COVID-19. They will begin self isolation and postpone all of their scheduled activities.[1]
