Baek Ji-heon (Korean: 백지헌, born April 17, 2003),[1][2] known mononymously as Jiheon (Korean: 지헌), is a South Korean singer and dancer signed under Pledis Entertainment.[3] She debuted at the age of 14 as the youngest member of the South Korean girl group Fromis 9, which was formed through the reality girl group survival competition show Idol School.
Early life
Jiheon was born in Boseong-gu, South Jeolla, on April 17, 2003. She has a younger brother.
Career
Pre-debut
She was originally a Woollim Entertainment trainee. However, she left the agency shortly afterward.[citation needed]
2017: Idol School
Jiheon was introduced as a contestant on the 2017 girl group survival show Idol School.[4] She ultimately landed in eighth place, making her a member of Fromis 9.[5]
2018: Debut with Fromis 9, solo activities
Fromis 9 officially debuted with their mini album To. Heart on January 24, 2018.[6]
Personal life
On February 24, 2022, Pledis Entertainment released a statement announcing that Jiheon would be going on temporary hiatus from all activities after she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. She would take some time to rest and focus on her health so she would return in good condition.[7][8]
On April 18, 2022, Pledis announced Jiheon's comeback after only 2 months of hiatus. She would then be resuming her activities following the end of her break starting with Fromis 9's first fanmeeting.[9]
