Bahramiyha released as The Bahramis on YouTube 5th February 2021 is an 8 x 30 mins Iranian web series, written and directed by Bijan Daneshmand. The series deals family and social issues of the Bahrami family, living in London and their associations and ties with home, Iran. The series has been popular with Iranian audiences living in and outside of Iran. It is in Farsi language with English subtitles. The project commenced with Daneshmand exploring to see whether the split screen format of video recording, using Skype, could be used to tell his story The Bahramis. It commenced as a series of test takes with several of the actors- Daneshmand then decided to make 4 episodes, calling them Season 1 and released them on YouTube, unrestricted, for public viewing on 5th February 2021. The project was well received and a further 4 episodes were made over four weeks and released on YouTube on 19th March 2021.
Plot Outline[edit]
Following the funeral of Zeenat Joon in Tehran, her son Reza Bahrami has found an old letter which was sent from London. In his letter, Daniel was asking to connect with Reza's brother, Javad Bahrami, claiming to be his son. Five years later, Reza's son, Kami, receives a message from Daniel, still searching to find his father.
