Bajao is a music streaming service that was launched in Dec of 2019 and is headquartered in Islamabad, Pakistan. The concept behind Bajao was to introduce a music streaming platform in Pakistan that would cater to and appeal to the Pakistani audience. Within a year of its launch, Bajao’s popularity was apparent with users crossing the 1 Million [1] mark by end of 2021.

Bajao Music was launched as a mobile app for both IOS and Android and can be accessed from the web [2] as well. Launched in Dec 2019, Bajao has a current user base of approximately 2 Million users from all over Pakistan.
Expansion and Features[edit]
Unlike other music streaming apps, Bajao offers audio songs as well as music videos on its platform. This Pakistani music app provides its users access to audiobooks and podcasts. With a library of 1 Million+ licensed audio and video tracks [3], Bajao offers a vast variety of music to choose from. The popularity of Bajao can be judged by the size of its userbase which is around 2 Million users [4], making it one of Pakistan’s largest music streaming platform. Music can be accessed on both the app and website. Data-free streaming is available for Jazz users exclusively. In addition, Bajao has the biggest collection of regional music in its library, approximately 80,000 tracks including Punjabi, Saraiki, Balochi and Sindhi tracks from famous local artists.

Bajao Music has partnered with major music labels including Universal Music Group (UMG) , EMI Pakistan and multiple platforms including Coke Studio , Bisconni Music , Velo Sound Station and Kashmir Beats.

Bajao Music relies on the subscription model in terms of business model. Revenue is generated as charged from customer. Different packages are available for users including daily, weekly and monthly as shown below.

Payment options[edit]
Bajao Pakistan has recently integrated Direct carrier billing (DCB) with Jaaz, Telenor, and Ufone to make it quick and convenient for its users to carry out their payments online. In addition, credit card billing has also been introduced for ease of online transactions. Payment methods also include Google pay and Apple Pay.
Nayi Awaaz Event[edit]
The team behind Bajao.pk took the unique initiative of launching an online singing competition through Bajao App and its social media platforms[5] The competition was based on public voting on the app. The objective behind “Nayi Awaaz” event was to provide a platform to underground artists to showcase and promote their talent and give them a chance to become the next voice of Pakistan. The event received an overwhelming response in it its first season due to its one-of-a kind approach and will be held on a yearly basis from now on with contestants participating from all over Pakistan.[6] [7]
