Balisongs
The balisong is a type of folding pocket knife with two handles that can rotate in opposite directions, so that when the knife is closed, the blade is hidden within the grooves in the handles. The blade can be quickly unfolded by an experienced user with one hand. Movements with the knife are made as an art form or for entertainment and require great skill. The use of "trainers" (more on this under safety) is used in people who have a poor normal memory or muscle memory. This also helps young people and young adults to improve reaction speed and manual dexterity. Of course balisongs can also be very enjoyable.
Balisongs are not like a Butterfly knife because butterflye knifes are illegal in most countries. Balisongs are not.
History
Balisongs were very popular with young people from the Philippines. The trend came over to America in 1980 and then spread around the world.
Safety
Many people are concerned about the safety of balisongs, but not all balisongs are sharp. There are also so-called trainers. These are butterfly knives with a blunt blade that - as the name suggests - are intended for practicing movements with the knife. They may also be intended for recreational purposes. The knives that are sharp are recommended to be bought only if you already have experience with knives or balisongs. The sharp Bali songs should also not be publicly visible (just like alcohol in America)
