Balkan Düğünü
Balkan Düğünü (English: The Balkan Wedding), (Macedonian: Балканска свадба) is a Turkish TV series which has started to broadcast on September 11, 2009, on Show TV. It mostly takes place in Republic of Macedonia.
Synopsis[edit]
Ali was 4 years old when his family fled to Turkey from Macedonia during World War II. He is living last days of his life. Before his death, he wants to see the land where he was born.
The whole family wants to join him during this journey because, as told by Ali, his father has buried a big treasure in the ground before he immigrated to Turkey. Everyone in the family dreams of that treasure. However, Ali decides to set out with his granddaughter Zehra, instead of his dishonest family members. But they have no intention to leave Ali and his granddaughter alone, so they secretly arrive in Skopje after Ali and Zehra.
Ömer is a boy of Turkish origin who is living in Skopje. He is a bum who has troubles with Albanian mafia leader Luran and his former girlfriend Galina who recently set free from the jail.Ömer and Zehra will meet accidentally in Skopje.
After that, a pursuit story begins which includes all Balkan area. In addition to relatives of Ali and Zehra, the Albanian mafia, Macedonian Gypsy Ejder, the police officers as well as Ömer's former girlfriend Galina also join to the treasure hunt. During this journey, a big love between Ömer and Zehra will arise.
