Ballymakenny College is an Educate Together mixed school located in Drogheda, County Louth, in the Republic of Ireland. As of 2022, the school had approximately 920 students.[1]
History[edit]
The school was founded in 2014 by the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) and Educate Together. It was the first secondary school opened by Educate Together in Ireland.[2] The school's current building was opened in 2016,[1] after being temporarily accommodated in a nearby primary school in Aston Village.[citation needed]
As of 2020, Ballymakenny College was one of the most popular schools in Drogheda, and struggled to accept everyone who applied.[3]
