Bangor Maroons

Located in Bangor, Maine, the Bangor Maroons was an independent minor league baseball team that played one season only, that in 1913 in the class D New Brunswick-Maine League. Three other teams, the St. Croix Downeasters, the Fredericton Pets, and the Saint Johns Marathons, competed in the league which folded on August 23 of that year. With a record of 18-48, the Maroons finished in 4th place.[1]

Former Major Leaguers George Magoon and Frank Connaughton shared managerial duties.[2] With Magoon at the helm, newspapers referred to the team as "Magoon's Maroons."[3]

Former Major Leaguer Joe Dolan also played for the Maroons.
