Baniya Baniya belong to the Chhetri community of Nepal. Many people are confused about the two castes "Baniya" and "Bania". Actually, "Baniya" are Chhetri from the Khas group, whereas "Bania" are people of the Terai from the Baisha group. History Jetha Buda Jaya Baniya Jetha Buda Jaya Baniya was a great warrior who played a vital role in the unification of Nepal. Another interesting fact is that Jetha Buda Jaya Baniya had an almost identical appearance to Prithivi Narayan Shah. This helped protect Prithivi Narayan Shah while returning from Banaras at Barun Chauki.
