Banjo Robinson was founded in 2018 by Kate Boyle. The business offers a subscription product for parents of children aged between 5 and 8 years old, to encourage improvements in reading and writing. The idea for the startup came easily to founder Kate Boyle, who says her father used to hide mail throughout the house for her to find when she was a child...[1]

In 2019, Banjo Robinson was one of 10 companies out of 1400 applicants selected for the Techstars London Accelerator[2]. In November 2019, the company announced the completion of a €1.16 million pre-seed round led by Collab+Sesame, a partnership between Sesame Ventures and the Collaborative Fund. That same year, the business was one of the finalists at Web Summit and came 2nd [3]

In April 2020, Banjo Robinson completed a product test with Mumsnet where 89% of testers said they would recommend the product to a friend or family member[4]
