Banto.tv is a browser-based party games platform that allows users to create, host, and play customizable party games without requiring downloading software.

Inspired by popular party games such as Jackbox and Kahoot!, Banto.tv also integrates an AI-based system (using ChatGPT)[1] to help users quickly generate game content. The platform also includes social features like public profiles, trading of in-game characters (known as bantos) and items, and the ability to remix existing games. Since its launch, Banto.tv has offered a platform for casual gaming, creative expression, and social interaction online.

Co-founder Douglas Pham describes Banto.tv as "Roblox / Canva of party games" due to its system of creating unique experiences or "gamemodes".

Banto.tv maintains a blog written by its founders covering topics such as internal game mechanics[2], behind-the-scenes of development, and recognizing notable users or contributors.[3] Several of the gamemodes that Banto.tv used are inspired by other gaming platforms, such as Jackbox.tv[4] and Gartic Phone.

History

Banto.tv was founded by Douglas Pham and Grant Kitlowkski[5] (who go under the online aliases phado and gkitt respectively) and launched in February 2025 under the platform's original name of "Happyslap.tv."

In April 2025, the name and domain were changed to “Chimps.tv” due to unforeseen negative connotations with the original name.[5]

Just a few days later, the name changed to its final iteration, Banto.tv, after it was realized that the term "chimps" was not permitted to be used on TikTok. This resulted in the domain name changing accordingly.[5]
