Bao Nguyen is a Vietnamese American film director, producer, and cinematographer who has directed eleven documentaries.[1] He is best known for directing the documentary films Live From New York, chronicling the legacy of NBC's long-running sketch show Saturday Night Live,[2] and Be Water, which originally premiered at Sundance Film Festival[3] before airing as part of ESPN's 30 for 30 series.[4] Be Water focuses on the life of martial artist Bruce Lee[5] and was listed as one of Bazaar's best films of 2020 so far.[6]
