Barbara Devlin is an American USA Today Bestselling author[1] of historical romance fiction. She has published more than 26 books, including novels, novellas, and anthologies.[2]

Career[edit]

Barbara's first career was in law enforcement. In December 1998, Barbara was working on a highway accident when she was struck by a car traveling at a high rate of speed and was pinned against a guardrail. The accident left her permanently disabled, and she retired from the police force to begin a regimen of physical therapy in an effort to restore her injured body.[3]

Remembering a set of romance novels that she had found in her parents’ beach house and enjoyed reading, Barbara was inspired to return to school to major in English to earn her MA, then continuing her education to earn degrees in Literature and Rhetoric.

After completing her degrees, Barbara began her new career as an English Professor. She wrote historical fiction in her spare time, developing her fictional knighthood, the Brethren of the Coast, the focus of her romantic historical novels. She is currently a full-time writer with eight novels, two novellas, and a list of collaborative works to her name.
