Personal life
Barbara L. Wegener was born in 1947. She worked as a Lutheran school teacher until her retirement in 2014. She is an active member of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod and attends St. Paul Lutheran Church in Boca Raton, Florida. She is married to David Wegener, and they live in Pompano Beach together. She is writing a sequel to Cara's Forgiveness and has written eight chapters so far.
