Barbie Jamili
Jimy Jean Jamili, known as Barbie Jamili, is a Filipina volleyball player from the Philippines.[1][2] She was born and raised in Liloan, Cebu.[3]
Early life
Jamili developed her love for volleyball during her formative years. She is a product of the successful Nazareth School of National University program.[4][5] Her grandfather’s wish to see her on television someday inspired her to step up and live out her dreams.
College career
Jamili chose Far Eastern University (FEU) as her college school, wanting to take on new opportunities and have a new beginning.[6][7] She made an impressive debut as a Lady Tamaraw in the Shakey’s Super League. However, she left FEU and returned to Cebu due to a family emergency. Later, Jamili joined the Adamson Lady Falcons.[8] She was welcomed to the San Marcelino campus by Adamson coach Jerry Yee and Akari Sports Director Russel Balbacal. She will serve a one-year residency and will be eligible to suit up for the Lady Falcons in the UAAP next year.
Her debut for Adamson Lady Falcons was on March 3, 2024, against the UE Lady Red Warriors in UAAP Season 86. In that game, she scored an impressive 20 points with 18 attacks, 2 blocks, and 12 digs, contributing significantly to their victory.[9] This outstanding performance garnered attention and raised expectations of her becoming a key player for the Adamson Lady Falcons.
