Barkley Dubis (born September 23, 2005) is an American filmmaker, artist, animator, composer, and multi-instrumentalist currently based out of San Diego, California. He is known primarily for the surrealist video art series I Am Perfectly Normal and the award winning short Regulate TikTok which he made in collaboration with Césaire José Carroll-Domínguez. His films are known for their unstable cinematography, gothic influence, and dark humor. His feature film debut Barkley Dubis' Danse Macabre is scheduled for release in December 2023.
Dubis is also known for his musical efforts, having worked in a variety of genres from salsa to death metal, collaborating with various local artists including Kamau Kenyatta. His compositional work takes from neo-classical and avant-garde music and is known to employ extended techniques. He is the drummer for local bands The Shirley Temples and the death-doom band Betty Page.
