Barry Okojie is a tech entrepreneur and an international businessman. He is the Founder and CEO of Jaraa Nigeria, a growing Nigerian online marketplace platform for buying and selling.
Early Life and Education
Barry Okojie was born on January 1st, in Lagos, South West, Nigeria. He was raised in Benin City where he had all of his early education.
He graduated from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma with an Advanced Diploma in Accounting at the age of 20. He proceeded to York University Toronto, Canada where he studied sociology.[1]
He also attained a Diploma with honours in Graphic Design from CDI College Of Technology Mississauga in Ontario.
Career
Barry started his career working as a Quality Control Manager with Willing Plus Personal for 2 years in Toronto alongside studying at the university.
After graduating, he started an export company called Kojfield Logistic LTD, serving as an intermediary between African vehicle dealers and dealerships in Canada. Exporting vehicles, parts and heavy equipment from Toronto to various parts of West Africa.
He spent some time handling T4 &T1 processing for Beliverz Accounting between 2012 and 2015.
Soon after that, in 2016 he co-founded a Real estate company in Nigeria called Penthouse Integrated Services, co-owned alongside his elder brother. Penthouse Integrated Services specializes in residential and commercial real estate development.
Just before the COVID-19 pandemic began, he applied for a Graphic Design Diploma with CDI College of Technology. After completing the Accelerated Diploma in Graphic Design, he began focusing more on tech and decided to combine his design skills with business, and Jaraa Technology Limited was created.[2]
Personal Life
Currently, aside from being the CEO of Jaara Technology Limited, Barry owns and operates multiple businesses.
