Bartolomeu Cachaça is a small-batch artesanal brand of the spirit cachaça (pronounced ka-SHA-sa) produced in the Sao Paulo, region of Brazil. Bartolomeu cachaça is aged in barrels made from native Brazilian wood casks.[1]. Cachaça shows all of its versatility in its aging process[2] and it is the key ingredient to the caipirinha,[3] Brazil’s national cocktail[4].

History[edit]

Bartolomeu inspiration came from the explorer, Bartolomeu Dias, the first European navigator to round the southern tip of Africa[5] and open up the way from Europe to Asia via the Cape of Good Hope.[6]

That discover of the 15th century was fundamental to start the Age of Discovery and sugarcane development to the rest of the world and build the foundations of today's sugarcane distillation[7]

Distillation[edit]

Distillation unit is a copper pot still that preserves the character of the cachaça and capture spirit composition and aroma[8] of each distillation.
