The Basel Beasts Softball Club is a slow pitch softball club for men and women located in Basel, Switzerland.

Club History

The Basel Beasts franchise was created in 2010 and was originally started as a local company softball team. After the team was established, interest from the public to join the team was received and in 2014 the team was opened to the public. This change to the Basel Beasts team structure marked a new beginning for the club with an almost completely new team roster. The 2019 season marks the sixth year the team is known as the Basel Beasts and its tenth year in the Swiss Softball Federation Slow-Pitch League. To date, the team's most successful season was in 2018, where it finished in first place in Division I and in second place in Division II.

Club Symbols

The Basel Beasts logo features a stylised basilisk clutching a shield featuring the image of a softball. The logo was chosen to represent the team as the basilisk features prominently in artworks around the town of Basel. The team colours are green and gold.

League

The Basel Beasts have competed in the Swiss Softball Federation Slow-Pitch League since 2010. The team fields players in both the first and second division of the league.

International Tournaments

Throughout the season, the Basel Beasts field an international team to travel throughout Europe to take part in various slow pitch softball tournaments. The 2019 season international tournaments will take place in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Spain.
