Bashabo[edit]
Bashabo (Bengali: বাসাবো) is a area under Sabujhbagh thana of Dhaka District in the division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bashabo is a large residential area under Sabujbag police station at south-east of Dhaka metropolis.[1]
Geography[edit]
Bashabo is situated in the eastern part of Dhaka, within the Dhaka South City Corporation area. It is bordered by Malibagh, Khilgaon and Kamalapur areas. The area is characterized by its bustling streets, markets, and a mix of residential and commercial buildings.
Economy[edit]
Bashabo has a vibrant local economy with numerous small businesses, shops, and markets. It is a hub for local commerce, and its markets offer a wide range of products, including clothing, electronics, and fresh produce. The area also has several educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and recreational centers.
Landmarks[edit]
Bashabo is home to several landmarks that contribute to its identity:
- Bashabo Buddha Mandir: It's located in Bashabo of Dhaka which is a prayer place for Buddhist people.[2] It was built during 1962 to conduct the activities for Buddhist community along side the prayer, teaching, and meditation.[3] This temple has a medium sized pond inside and beside this you’d find a large golden status of Lord Buddha standing on the Lotus.
- Bir Muktijoddha Shaheed Alauddin Park: It's also located in Bashabo. The park was modernized by Dhaka South City Corporation and opened again in 2019.[4] Now it became a prominent place for playing, walking and socail gathering.
