Basis Awhatukee

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Basis Awhatukee is a charter school founded by BasisEd, its parent company. It is located in Ahwatukee, Arizona, and houses approximately 500 students. The BASIS curriculum is well known to be one of the most difficult in the world, so much that Basis Ahwatukee was once first in the world on PSAT and SAT scores, according to USNews.com. The dropout rate within the first week has been measured to be around 50%, and surprisingly consists mainly of the concerns of the parents of the children about the difficult homework. Unlike many public schools, this school is very diverse and holds more than 25 ethnicity groups every year. However, like many public schools, Basis Ahwatukee stresses out its students to the maximum, which they claim prepares the students for PSAT's and SAT's, a main concern for the school.
