Basu Gautam (born 7 April 1978) is a Nepalese author, educator, environmentalist, and peace activist.[1][2][3][4][5] He is the Founder and President of the Lumbini World Peace Forum.[6][7][8][9] and the leader of Nepal’s One Million Trees Plantation Drive, a nationwide initiative promoting climate resilience and community engagement.[10][11] Gautam has over two decades of experience working with various international organizations in peacebuilding, education, and environmental conservation.[12][13][14]

Career

Gautam has played a significant role in promoting environmental conservation and peace initiatives in Nepal. He is known for founding the Lumbini World Peace Forum, which works to foster global peace and cross-cultural dialogue.[15][16][17] Additionally, he leads the One Million Trees Plantation Drive, an initiative that focuses on sustainability and afforestation efforts to combat climate change.[18][19][20]

As an educator and public speaker, he has delivered lectures and training on innovation in education, climate action, and leadership development. His advocacy spans international collaborations in social justice, sustainability, and peacebuilding.[21][22][23]

Early and personal life

Basu Gautam was born on 7 April 1978, in Siddharthanagar, Nepal. He is the son of Dr. Balaram Gautam, former mayor of Siddharthanagar Municipality,[31] and Sita Gautam. Basu Gautam is married to Neelam Aryal, and they have a daughter, Abani Gautam.
