The Battle of Dashinoc was an armed clash that took place on 22 April 1998 in the village of Dashinoc, Kosovo, during the Kosovo War. The engagement resulted in the capture of the village by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

Background

In early 1998, fighting intensified in western Kosovo as the Kosovo Liberation Army expanded its operations against Yugoslav and Serbian security forces. The Dashinoc area was part of the Dukagjin region, where the KLA had increased its presence and conducted coordinated attacks on state forces.

Battle

On 22 April 1998, KLA units engaged Yugoslav and Serbian security forces in and around the village of Dashinoc. After an exchange of gunfire, Yugoslav forces withdrew from the area, allowing the KLA to take control of the village.

Aftermath

Following the capture of Dashinoc, many local Serb residents fled the village. Three Serb civilians who remained were later abducted and were found dead on 16 September 1998 at Lake Radonjić. Their deaths were later linked to the broader Lake Radonjić massacre.

Casualties

There are no reliable published figures for military casualties on either side during the Battle of Dashinoc. Civilian deaths connected to the aftermath include three Serb civilians who were later found killed.
