Battle of Radwan 1828
The Battle of Radwan in 1828 was a Battle where Yazidi militiants and Kurdish militiants fought against each other. Before the battle, eyewitnesses said that the Kurds attacked the Yazidis many times there taking them as sex slaves and killing them. Many times they also forcefully converted them to Islam. In the battle the Yazidis successfully won against the Kurds and mobilized approximately 30,000 Kurdish soldiers.[1]

Aftermath
After the battle, most of the Kurdish soldiers were either killed or injured. This battle was one of the most important to the Yazidi people of Radwan because if they would not have won the whole Yazidi population would have been destroyed. Until this day the Yazidi leader Mirza Agha is considered a national hero and the Yazidis today make songs about him to celebrate that they still exist there. The Yazidis were able to still live in the city Siirt and not fear the Kurdish army killing them again.[2]
