Background
Taking advantage of his departure, Amir Inanch took control of Rey with his army and moved to Sava to meet with the army of Khwarezmshah (562/1166-67). After the two armies met, they entered the lands of the Seljuk State of Iraq together. Arslanshah and Jahan Pahlawan, who was with him, did not have enough power, so they sent a message to Eldiguz to come to his aid and retreated. In the meantime, some emirs tried to resist the army of İnanç and his ally Khwarezmshah, but they were forced to retreat when the sultan left.[2][3]
Battle
Amir Inanch was determined to continue the struggle. When he heard that the son of Ali Bar, the governor of Rey, Omar, had been captured, he gathered a large army with the help of Alaeddin Hasan, the ruler of Mazandaran, to recapture his old city, seeing the situation as suitable. Jahan Pahlawan and the other amirs, who were informed of the situation, went to Rey to defend the city. They encountered Inanch's army near Rey and were forced to retreat (1168)[4][5]
