The Battle of the Birds is a rivalry between the Adamson Soaring Falcons and the Ateneo Blue Eagles, two prominent universities in the Philippines. The rivalry is particularly intense in men's basketball, where both teams have a long history of success in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

School color

Both universities boast the color blue as their primary identifier, and their mascots are both birds – the Falcon for Adamson and the Eagle for Ateneo. This visual similarity instantly creates a sense of competition and contrast.

History

The competition between the two teams ignited during the early 2010s when they faced off in the championship finals of the Philippine Collegiate Championship League (PCCL).

While their PCCL clash ignited the spark, the rivalry truly came into its own within the UAAP. In UAAP Season 74, Adamson famously ended Ateneo's 13-year, 29-game winning streak against them, denying the Blue Eagles a much-desired advantage in the playoffs.
