The Bay City Commission is the legislative body of the city of Bay City, Michigan. The Commission is comprised of 9 members and the mayor, each member representing one of the city's 9 wards. City elections are nonpartisan , and since 2022, are held on the same date as United States Presidential and Michigan Gubernatorial, general elections. Bay City Mayoral elections, along with elections for even-numbered wards, are held in Presidential years, while elections for odd-numbered wards are held in Gubernatorial years. Once elected, city commissioners serve 4-year terms. The Mayor serves as the chief executive officer of the body, presiding over the commission.
