Beast of Bevendean
The Beast of Bevendean is a panther-like creature which has been spotted around the Brighton and Hove area of England since 2008.[1] Warnings were issued to local residents in 2008, and in June 2008 a local man reported an attack by the beast upon his dog.[2] Following an investigation by the British Big Cats Society, it was felt that "it could be a panther."[1] It was sighted again in 2010 by a teacher.[3] In a response to claims that the animal could be part of a breeding population, a spokesman from Sussex Big Cat Watch said that "we don’t know how many are out there. There could be two or three or there could be dozens."[4]
In 2011, a local filmmaker began making Young Hunters: The Beast of Bevendean, a children's adventure movie about two young boys who set out to trap the Beast.[5][6]
