Beat (2022) is an Australian psychological thriller film, directed by Jye Curie. Starring Australian actors Alexandra Jensen, Rachael Carpani, Alexis Lane, John Wood and Sebastian Szeszeran.
Synopsis[edit]
Beat explores the themes of homelessness and mental health with the story driven by classical music. After a heart transplant a young woman (Ellie) finds herself connecting with a homeless man (Kevin) through classical music. Through-out a series of emotional performances and dramatic events the two worlds begin to merge as one.[1]

Production[edit]
In February 2021 it was news that indigenous director Jye Curie was making his directorial debut for his original screenplay of the feature film Beat. Currie produced the film with Annette Hubber under the Australian production company of Green Frog Productions. In June 2021, it was announced Alexandra Jensen, Rachael Carpani and Alexis Lane had joined the cast of the new Australian film. The film set records in Newcastle, Australia becoming the largest independent film to be produced in the region.[2]

Release[edit]
In May 2022, Gravitas Ventures acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film. The film is scheduled released via Video on Demand (VOD) in the United States on 16 August 2022, by Gravitas Ventures.[3]
In June 2022, Symphonic acquired the world wide rights to distribute the original motion picture soundtrack. The motion picture soundtrack was released world wide on 15 July 2022, available on all major streaming platforms.
