Beat Menace

Omar Gomez (born December 29, 1988), professionally known as Beat Menace (also known as TheBeatMenace or simply Menace), is a Grammy Nominated American record producer, songwriter managed by Sal of SAL&CO. Born is Dominican Republic and Raised in Rhode Island, Omar began a production career while in high school and became known for his successful recordings with hip hop and trap artists such as Meek Mill, 6ix9ine, Pop Smoke, Dave East, Young Thug, Ty Dolla Sign, and Tory Lanez

Early production success for Omar came with tracks such as 6ix9ines's 2018 hit "Billy" and Meek Mill's "Respect the game". Since then, he has amassed Several Chart toping hits, including "Mood Swings" by Pop Smoke, "Cold Hearted ll" by Meek Mill, "Mood Swings Remix" by Pop Smoke , Lil Tjay and Summer Walker. He has also Been part of Several albums including Karma 2(2018) with Dave East , Championships (2019) with Meek Mill , SFTSAFTM (2020), with Pop Smoke, Loner (2020) with Tory Lanez, Tattle Tales (2020) with 6ix9ine, and DJ Akademiks "Day69" by 6ix9ine was his first of many Platinum certification (1x Platinum), being certified in 2018.

Early life

Omar Gomez Wayne was born on December 29, 1988, in Dominican Republic, . He has two siblings. After a brief stint playing piano in his middle school, he turned to making beats in the twelve grade at age 18. This happened when his friend introduced him to the music production software FruityLoops. In high school, Menace made beats daily. Initially, Menace wanted to make beats for his friends, and started making beats so that they could have music to rap over. However, he eventually turned his full attention toward hip hop production. As he continued to perfect his production skills, while still in high school, he began to utilize online social media platforms, such as Myspace, Soundclick and Facebook to network with more established rap artists as well as beat submissions for potential music placements.

Career

2007–2018: Career beginnings

During high school, Omar would collaborate with many local artists he met through online social media platforms. One of the first major artists with whom he worked was New York rapper Dave East which then led him to collaborate with other artists such as Lil Durk, Nipsey Hustle, and eventually his frequent collaborator 6ix9ine, an artist that he continues to work with to this day.

Menace first started traveling to New York in 2017 to pursue a career in music. In an interview with Kato, Menace says that New York Rapper Dave East was the first popular artist to rap on his beats, a string of collaborations that ultimately led to Metro meeting and working with Nipsey Hustle, Lil Durk during the summer of 2017. Menace moved to Providence Rhode Island to attend CCRI, studying Criminal Justice. Ultimately however, he chose to take a hiatus from school after a semester, To begin his fulltime music career. Since then, Menace has collaborated with artists including 6ix9ine, Meek Mill, Pop Smoke, Lil Durk, Tory Lanez, Young Thug, Ty Dolla Sign, The Weeknd, Summer Walker, Lil Tjay, Smoke Purp, Strick, Ace Hood, and Troy Ave.

2018–2020: Being Recognized

Beat Menace Started his music career by posting all of his musical works on websites like Soundclick, YouTube, and Soundcloud. Menace Posted "Type Beat" in the title of his productions. This Helped Menace gain a a large audience witch eventually led to him being recognized by a well know up and coming artist at the time Tekashi 6ix9ine. 6ix9ine found Beat Menace's Beats on YouTube and would go on to create Menace's first Gold Certification record "Billy"

Musical style

Music Styles include trap sub-genre of hip hop, R&B, Reggae. Beat menace uses a mix of heavy bass, Hard hitting synthetic percussion and dark, gothic style melodies. Beat Menace mainly produces to Hip Hop and Trap.

Producer tag / Aggressive Production

In early 2018, Beat Menace received attention for his aggressive style and "Meek Mill Type Beats" on YouTube and Instagram. Beat Menace's "Menace" Tag is performed in 6ix9ine's Single "Billy". The origin of the tag comes from Menace recording himself on FL Studio in his early production career.
