BEDNAR FMT is a Czech manufacturer of agricultural machinery, specializing in the design and production of equipment for tillage, seeding and fertilization, crop residue management, inter-row cultivation, and strip-till.[1][2]
History
The company was founded in 1997 as Strom Export by Ladislav Bednář and his partners, initially focusing on the export of Czech agricultural machinery. Over time, it began producing its own machines, with the first being the "DISK PROFI" disc cultivator, introduced in 1998. Over the years, Bednar expanded its product range and modernized its production facilities, particularly in Rychnov nad Kněžnou.[citation needed]
In 2013, the company was renamed Bednar FMT, and Ladislav Bednář became the sole owner.[3] The company offers a range of agricultural machinery, including disc cultivators, seed drills, and inter-row cultivators, particularly for large-scale farming. Some machines, however, are used in precision farming with a smaller ecological footprint.[4] BEDNAR regularly presents its products at international agricultural exhibitions such as Agritechnica and SIMA.[5][4]
The company operates an extensive distribution network across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Australia.[citation needed]

In 2023, the Swifterdisc XE 18400 mega disc cultivator set a record by cultivating 769.36 ha (1,901.1 acres) in 24 hours.[6][7]
