Beeda Ravichandra is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh and a leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He is a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. He has held several organisational positions in the TDP, including national general secretary and leadership positions in the party's Nellore organisation.[1]
Ravichandra began his political career in the Telugu Desam Party and has remained associated with the party throughout his documented political career.[2]
He previously served as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from 2015 to 2021. In March 2025, he was elected to the Legislative Council for a second term after being elected unopposed under the quota for members elected by the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.[3][4]
Political career
Ravichandra began his political career with the Telugu Desam Party. In 1990, he became the Telugu Yuvatha secretary of Allur mandal. He served as general secretary of the TDP's Nellore district unit from 2000 to 2010, as state party assistant secretary and Kadapa district in-charge in 2007–08, and as coordinator for the Eluru and Machilipatnam parliamentary constituencies in 2011. He also served as president of the Telugu Yuvatha's state unit from 2008 to 2014.[5]
Ravichandra subsequently served as president of the TDP's Nellore district unit for eight years.[6] In October 2020, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a new organisational structure of the party in which Ravichandra was appointed as a national general secretary of the TDP.[7]
Member of the Legislative Council
Ravichandra served as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from 2015 to 2021.[8]
In March 2025, the Telugu Desam Party nominated Ravichandra as one of its three candidates for five Legislative Council seats to be elected by members of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.[9] As only five nominations were received for the five available seats, Ravichandra and the other four candidates were declared elected unopposed on 13 March 2025.[10]
He took oath as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in April 2025.[11]
