Beershoes
Beershoes
History: Beershoes is an American game played on Americas southern beaches. The game originated on Pensacola Beach FL.
Description: The game consist of two teams with two players per team. Players use empty beer cans refilled with beach sand. Each team digs a hole 12 inches in diameter and with a depth of that is the size of two beer cans stacked on top of each other. Both teammates stand on the same side, behind their teams sandy hole. The holes are 13 paces apart.
How to play: The objective is to stand behind your own sand hole and throw your teams beer cans filled with sand into the other teams sand hole. If a can lands in the hole its 1 point, if both cans land in the hole its 2 points and that team gets the beer cans back and may toss them again. A hook shot is a sign of desperation, but is worth 2 points and can earn the team the cans back. The game is played to 11 with a win by 2 rule always in effect. The losing team is always given a chance at redemption.
