Bektešević

Bektešević (Serbian Cyrillic: Бектешевић) Bekteševići are immigrants from Zatrijebač, but they're originally from Bjelice in Katunska Nahija, from the famous Brotherhood Milić. Three brothers Milići moved from Bjelice to Zatrijebač, one of them chose to stay and was "Latinized". The other two brothers moved to Gusinje, where one of the brothers accepted Islam and the other one remained Orthodox Christian. From the one who remained in Zatrijebač are Benjkani (Before Markovići), and from the one who accepted Islam are Bekteševići, from the one that remained Orthodox are Lončarevići. Bekteševići and Lončarevići are their own kind. Until Montenegro's war with Turkey in 1876-8. they helped one another in fights. The Islamized brother Milić took the name "Bekteš", Which has a Turkish meaning of Watchtower Stone.
