María Belén Ramírez Gallardo, is a Paraguayan fashion model, beauty queen title holder and journalist born 12 October 1995, in Asunción, Paraguay.
Her first contest as a beauty queen she represented the town of La Colmena. On May 19, 2016, with the help of her parents and a fashion designer friend, she entered the Miss World Paraguay 2016 representing the Paraguarí Department under the title Reina Paraguarí Mundo 2016. [1]
On August 6, 2016, the Miss World Paraguay 2016 election took place, where Belén Gallardo was designated as a finalist in the Miss Supranational Paraguay. The pageant was held together with Miss Universe Paraguay 2016. However, Belén did not appear to receive the Miss Supranational crown due to internal conflicts with the organization.
After not having appeared at the coronation, that same year, Gallardo participated in the casting of the reality show World Top Model Paraguay broadcast by Unicanal, where she competed against 15 other participants. In this way, on December 12, 2016 Gallardo won the title of World Top Model Paraguay 2016, representing Paraguay in the World Top Model.
On December 17 of that year, the final competition of this event takes place in Milan, where Gallardo was among the ten finalists.[2]
Belén Gallardo began modeling at an early age working for brands in her country, participating in fashion shows and magazine covers.
Early years[edit]
Belén Gallardo was born on October 12, 1995 in Asunción, capital of Paraguay. She spent part of her childhood in the countryside, city of La Colmena, district in the Paraguarí Department where her mother is a native. Daughter of attorney Zonia Gallardo and Virgilio Ramírez, being an only child.
Since she was a child she showed her artistic interest, highlighting her taste for theatre, dance, music and fashion. Her artistic path began when she entered the theatre workshop at her school, Colegio Inmaculado Corazón de María in Asunción, where she took part in several plays.
In 2005, she participated in a children's literary contest for the group Oceania where she wrote a short story in Spanish called La primavera.
Career[edit]
In December 2021, for the first time she posed for the cover of the American magazine Surreal in issue 646.
She is currently represented by the agency Major Model Management Milano.
University[edit]
In 2014 she entered the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences of the Catholic University of Asunción. She finished her university studies in 2018 receiving a degree in Journalism and Communication. After her university, Belén Gallardo decided to move to Italy and study Italian to see the fashion houses in Milan. She later moved to Tanzania, where she went on vacation, but quickly found that she loved the place and couldn't leave it.
Television and Radio[edit]
In 2016 she was seen in the Fashion TV segment with her designer friend Julián Shigeyuki.
In 2016, Belén Gallardo won the World Top Model Paraguay 2016 award, thus becoming the Top Model Paraguay, after her participation in the Reality Show that was broadcast on Unicanal. [3]
In 2017, Gallardo appeared on the show Showmatch.
In 2018, Belén began her journalism career with the aim of working in the press, although she published several articles written for the University. Her debut began in a program for Radio Cáritas Universidad Católica 680 AM, together with journalist Pedro Kriscovich where they addressed topics about family, music, art and films.
Personal life[edit]
In 2020, Belén Gallardo got married to Giovanni Pullini in a private ceremony in the Italian embassy in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The couple met in Geneva, Switzerland in 2018 during holidays. Currently, she is the director of her communication agency Twiga Social.
