María Belén Ramírez Gallardo is a Paraguayan fashion model, actress, journalist, author, and beauty queen. She is best known for winning a reality competition World Top Model Paraguay 2016.

Early years

Belén Gallardo was born on October 12, 1995, in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay. She spent part of her childhood in the countryside town of La Colmena, in the Paraguarí Department, where her mother is originally from. Belén is the only child of attorney Virgilio Ramírez and Zonia Gallardo.

From a young age, Belén demonstrated a strong passion for the arts, particularly theatre, dance, music, and fashion. She nurtured these interests by joining the theatre workshop at her high school, where she participated in numerous plays.

In 2005, Belén’s creative talents expanded beyond performing arts when she entered a children's literary contest organized by the group Oceania. She wrote a short story in Spanish called La Primavera, showcasing her early flair for writing.

Career

Belén Gallardo's public career began when she was crowned Miss Teen La Colmena, with a community project focused on remodeling a children's soccer field in La Colmena. [1]

In 2016, she gained further recognition by being crowned Reina Paraguarí Mundo 2016, representing the Paraguarí Department in the Miss World Paraguay pageant — a milestone that marked the official start of her pageantry journey.[2]

On the night of the Miss World Paraguay 2016 event, she was named a finalist for Miss Supranational Paraguay, which was held alongside Miss Universe Paraguay. However, due to internal conflicts within the organization, Belén was unable to participate in the contest.

Later that year, Belén participated in World Top Model Paraguay, a reality show broadcast by Unicanal. She competed against 15 other contestants and won the title of World Top Model Paraguay 2016. She went on to represent Paraguay at the World Top Model competition in Milan, where she finished among the top 10 finalists.[3]

In December 2021, Belén made her debut as a cover model for the American magazine Surreal, appearing on issue 646.

University

In 2014, Belén Gallardo entered the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences at the Catholic University of Asunción, where she pursued a degree in Journalism and Communication. She completed her studies in 2018, earning her degree and preparing for a career that would blend both the media and fashion industries.

Personal life

After graduating, Belén decided to move to Italy to study Italian, aiming to immerse herself in the world of fashion and visit the fashion houses in Milan. However, her journey took an unexpected turn when she traveled to Tanzania for a vacation. She quickly fell in love with the place and, unable to leave, made it her new home.

In addition to her modeling career, Belén Gallardo is the director of Twiga Social Agency, where she leads a team focused on communication strategies, helping brands and talents effectively convey their messages and build their presence in the industry. [4]

In 2020, Belén Gallardo married Giovanni Pullini in a private ceremony at the Italian embassy in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The couple had met in Geneva, Switzerland, during the holidays in 2018.

In addition to her work in fashion and communication, Belén Gallardo is also an author. She wrote the book With Love Maria: Powerful affirmations for Your Heart, Mind, and Soul, which offers a collection of affirmations aimed at encouraging personal growth, self-love, and emotional well-being. Drawing from her own experiences and wisdom, Belén's book provides readers with positive messages to help them navigate life’s challenges and foster inner strength.
