Bell Tower Mall

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Bell Tower Mall is a repurposed shopping center in Greenville, South Carolina.

Decline and closure[edit]

The mall began to decline in the late 1970s. Edwards, which had been acquired by Big K, closed in 1979. Woolco closed along with the rest of the chain in 1982. By 1984, all stores in the mall interior had closed, and Greenville County had acquired the complex for office space.

Current use[edit]

The complex has been known as Greenville County Square since the 1980s and features government offices for Greenville County, South Carolina.

Proposed redevelopment[edit]

The complex is currently slated for redevelopment, given the significant increase in property values in downtown Greenville in general, and the neighboring West End in particular.[1]
