Bell of Lost Souls Interactive also known as BoLS, is an American online publisher and marketing service company specializing in tabletop and role-playing games.
History
BoLS was founded by Larry Vela in December 2006 and was later incorporated in 2009. Vela worked in the video game industry for ten years in companies like Maxis, MicroProse, and Origin before launching BoLS. The company's Gamewire manufacturer press release service was launched in 2013 and now serves over five hundred industry companies, while its monthly readership crossed over one and a half million readers in 2022.[1]
BoLS also used to run several in-person conventions in Austin, Texas, under the BolsCon and WargamesCon brands,[2][3][4] the conventions were discontinued due to the Covid pandemic and BoLS turned to focus on online content.[5][6][7]
BoLS covers all major news and updates including Warhammer 40,000, Dungeons and Dragons, and Magic: The Gathering.[8][9][10]
The company owns and operates two sub-brands, Screen Fanatic which focuses on TV, movies, and video game coverage, and Dice Fanatic which focuses on tabletop and role-playing games.[11]
The company runs Forge the Narrative, a podcast focusing on wargaming content, the podcast was started in 2009.[12]
BoLS' work has been featured in several publications including Screen Rant,[13][14] the Daily Dot,[15] and Bleeding Cool.[16]
