The Belmont Law Review is an American law review and the flagship law journal of the Belmont University College of Law.

History[edit]

The Belmont Law Review was established in 2012.[1][2] The Belmont Law Review is a biannually published, student-managed, student-edited scholarly journal.[3] Each issue of the Belmont Law Review publishes articles from law professors and practitioners, as well as notes from current law students.[3] The Belmont Law Review also hosts an annual symposium on a topic significantly impacting the legal community.[3]

The current editor-in-chief is Maggie Hunt.[4] Day-to-day production operations are overseen by the current managing editor, Hallie Gillam.[5] Since its inception, the Belmont Law Review's faculty advisor has been Professor Jeffrey Omar Usman,[6] who was unanimously confirmed to the Tennessee Court of Appeals in May 2022.[7]

In 2021, TaxProf Blog and the University of Oregon ranked the Belmont Law Review as the 165th best law journal by weighing its Google Scholar Metrics Ranking, US News Peer Reputation Ranking, US News Overall Ranking, and the W&L Combined Ranking.[8][9] The Belmont Law Review has gained 5 ranking spots each year since it first ranking in 2019.[10][11]
