Beni Saqqar

Beni Saqqar is a Berber tribe that inhabit the area close to Saqqara, the ancient burial ground in Egypt.
Name[edit]
The name Beni Saqqar means "Sons of Saqqar".[1][2]
Saqqara[edit]
The ancient burial ground in Egypt, Saqqara was named after this tribe. Since the Beni Saqqar are not indigenous to the area they would not have fashioned themselves as being born of an ancient Egyptian god, whose identity was unknown until the age of archaeology.
