Benjamin Carollo is a news commentator & twitch streamer and the first openly trans woman to host her own show on The Young Turks(TYT) network.

Biography[edit]

Education[edit]

Ben earned two associate's degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the University of Maryland, Global Campus, and a Master's Degree in Biosecurity & Biodefense from the University of Maryland Global Campus[1].

Military Service[edit]

Ben served in the military for 8 years, four on active duty as a Geospatial Intelligence analyst[2], and four in the Minnesota Air National Guard as a Cyber Surety Specialist. She spent most of her active duty career at Ramstein Air Base in Germany[3].

Political Career[edit]

Ben got her political start running the campaign of her friend from the military Ian Todd[4], who ran against Tom Emmer in Minnesota's 6th congressional district. She then went on to run the special election campaign of Michelle Lee[5], before running herself for Minnesota's 13th house district in the 2020 election[6].

Media Career[edit]

Ben got her start as a political twitch streamer in February of 2020. In June of 2021, she was one of two "twitch pitch" competition winners at TYT[7], which is how she earned her show "Galaxy Brain" which has been running since, on TYT's twitch channel. Ben came out as trans on November 19th of 2021, making her the first trans woman to host her own show on TYT's network.
