Benjamin Crowell (author)
Benjamin Crowell is a free physics and mathematics textbook author,[1] a science fiction writer,[2] and a free and open source software author and free content advocate.[3][4] Crowell has authored several textbooks that are in use in colleges and preparatory schools across the United States.[5] He has authored several short stories and novels that are published in Sci-Fi periodicals, some with international translations,[6] and also made freely available.[7] His open source software contributions span classical literature, UNIX/Linux utilities, and supporting material for his free textbooks.[8] Crowell graduated with an undergraduate degree in physics and mathematics from UC Berkeley and a PhD in physics from Yale University[9] and retired[9] as Professor after a career teaching physics and mathematics at Fullerton College.
